Exhibition at Museo Tamayo by Petrit Halilaj: RUNIK

Challenging notions of nationality, place and belonging, Petrit Halijah: Runik is the artist's first exhibition in Latin America. For Halilaj (Kosovo, 1986), art is not only a vehicle to travel and learn about the world, but a means through which to express himself and explore the complicated emotions that surround the history of his homeland. . Over time, his work has achieved great political weight in the young country of Kosovo, where he has become a very active cultural spokesperson. Although he now lives in Berlin, the artist maintains his strong roots with Kosovo, as well as ties with Italy. Like her creatures, Halilaj has learned to make a home wherever she feels a bond.
